@lnxw48 I may try #JBoss tomorrow, as it comes with #Hibernate "natively". #Jetty and #Tomcat are only a web containers, what I need is a full application server, like #TomcatEE is as it has support for #EJB.

@roland Have you looked at some other #Java web containers? http://url.federati.net/gBqZZ I'm not really sure what differences in functions and management are between #tomcat #jetty #glassfish etc, but maybe the link will help.

@roland@f.haeder.net I haven't touched #Java (especially web stuff) in about a decade, but I thought #Jetty was easier than #Tomcat.

@lnxw48 @dragnucs @zoowar So far what I have seen of hosters is that they provide some #PHP versions (5.3 to 5.5 mostly), #Python, #Ruby, #Java (in form of a #Tomcat) or #C (#TNT is a C++ framework for web pages) are very rarely offered. And, of course, they offer #Perl ... So that I say is that the typical user will have PHP installed and #MySQL as a database (rarely seen #PostreSQL). I think we will mostly "benefit" by rewriting the old parts [1/2]
