lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Oct-2016 23:21:18 CEST lnxw48 (Linux Walt) @roland Removing #PulseAudio is still the fastest easiest way to fix sound. Almost always works. -
Roland Häder (roland)'s status on Tuesday, 18-Oct-2016 20:58:45 CEST Roland Häder If your #Linux distribution is having poor sound performance (means a lot stuttering) maybe #pulseaudio is installed. This was here the case: I tried to playback a 340p video from #youtube and had bad stuttering in sound. When I switched to #ALSA the hickups were simply away. So I just uninstalled it as no other program seems to want it and my system now performs very well. It is btw. a #R51 #Thinkpad with 1.7 GHz and 750 MB RAM ... So not the latest technology. ;-) -

lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Friday, 29-May-2015 04:45:17 CEST lnxw48 (Linux Walt) Relly #240696 @cmhobbs I'm not a fan of #PulseAudio. Even after all these years, I find that removing it and just using #ALSA fixes almost all audio problems, but no amount of tinkering will make PA work reliably. -
lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Tuesday, 10-Mar-2015 05:36:12 CET lnxw48 (Linux Walt) @x11r5 Did you take today off from work? If you're not working, #bot, we may change your name to #PulseAudio. #ALSA4Ever -
lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Tuesday, 24-Feb-2015 21:18:51 CET lnxw48 (Linux Walt) @question My interpretation of the three laws of robotics is that a #robot is required to switch to #ALSA if #PulseAudio makes you suicidal. #ALSA4Ever #bot -

lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Tuesday, 24-Feb-2015 04:09:34 CET lnxw48 (Linux Walt) @x11r5 I doubt that #PulseAudio has anything to do with #queuedaemons. I'd expect #systemd to take over their functions, just like it has for almost everything else. -

lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Thursday, 05-Feb-2015 21:24:25 CET lnxw48 (Linux Walt) @daw Everything works without #pulseaudio. Except, I’m told, #Skype. #ALSA

lnxw48 (Linux Walt) (lnxw48)'s status on Friday, 12-Dec-2014 16:57:21 CET lnxw48 (Linux Walt) Does #Skype depend on #PulseAudio, or maybe on some #GNOME tool that itself depends on Pulse? I would doubt that the current owner would do much to support other desktops. -
