#JavaScript has a lot !security implications and it can currently not be understood by most search engines (I don't know even one that can). So if you want to drive good (and a lot) content into the search engines, you cannot bypass "static" pages (generated with #PHP, #Python, #Perl, #JSF and so on is not static but you can use #mod_rewrite to obsfucate your script names).

!grrr - Support for IPv6 is still wide and far between. Most Dynamic DNS hosts I'm trying are either not supporting it at all, or depending on an external script - looking at a Perl script now that needs a module not on my laptop. Since I'll eventually need to run this on the NAS, that isn't very hopeful. There's still hope, but this is taking far too log and it's far too complicated to do something that by now *should* be simple! #ipv6 #perl #networking #dns

Or #Perl.

@gomerx @kat I must admit that #Ruby reminds me very much of those #Perl classes in college. But it does seem to have a little bit of #Python and #Smalltalk influence in it too.

Good !tzag !fediverse Today I have received an email (more #spam) that I (it was #question in fact) have linked the #wikipedia #perl article. It looks like they use some automatic tool to analyze the referral URL and then send an email to webmaster@domain.example . They asked me there to also link to their site, which I don't do here. If you get something similar, don't fall on their trick, just hit the "train as spam" button and ignore it. :)

I thought I'd see fireworks, but this #Perl discussion of the Perl6 logo turned out to be pretty tame. https://fresh.federati.net/url/10277

The author of the Adventures in #Perl blog is dumping Perl 5 for #Java, sounds doubtful that upcoming release of #Perl6 will change his mind. https://fresh.federati.net/url/10275

#perl6 still expected to be released for #Christmas http://url.federati.net/ZKOQC
I still wish the #Perl community would find another name for Perl 6, since it isn't a successor of Perl5 and later. It is more of a younger sibling.

@daw gedit should have syntax highlighting for #perl. Maybe there's a plugin to install / enable.
