I've been subpoenaed as witness in a trial tomorrow, lady at Courthouse said I can't bring even a paperback to relieve boredom while waiting for my case. Could be hours. #help!
-
@jonkulp you are called, but you might not even actually have to provide evidence? Could be a long day.
-
@jonkulp Bring a hardcover. If they complain about it, hit them with it. All bases covered! :)
-
@chalkahlom I will definitely be called to give evidence, but this trial is one of several on the docket and I don't know when it will be. I have to be there from 9 a.m. onward.

@jonkulp best of luck

@jonkulp It has been many years since I was a witness, but we had a separate area where we had to sit, so that we heard nothing from any trial until time for us to testify. Afterwards, we had to wait in a sort of lobby until the DA or Public Defender came to tell us we were free to go. It was booooorinnnng.

@lnxw48 I expect long boring wait. I understand I'm not allowed to have anything with me that might relieve boredom. :(
-
@jonkulp They can't really expect you to stare at a wall. Can you bring at least a pen or pencil? Oo Write a short story/composition. "It came from the coolie", "My first dog", "The nutters I met online".
-
@nybill I'm actually going to bring a small paperback in my cargo pocket and risk confiscation. Also a pencil and sheet of paper.

♻ @windigo Problem is it with your map. No reason to complain
