Regarding features of Qvitter to be implemented in AndStatus: Qvitter is installed inside GNU social server, so it is not constrained by client API.This is why it can e.g. add several recipients to "To:" field. Whereas AndStatus uses Twitter compatible API. Maybe we should look at "ostatus" API, used to connect between GNU social instances?! https://github.com/andstatus/andstatus/issues/185 @mmn@social.umeahackerspace.se @moshpirit @pztrn @vinilox

@andstatus You could perhaps look at sending stuff with AtomPub. I haven't experimented much with it myself though.

You can have a look to http://social.bka.li/url/55274 ... I've implemented "Reply all" into !mustardmod on 2012-12-07

@kromonos *replaces #Mustard with #MustardMod* what other changes are there? It is not obvious from the description on #F-Droid
-
Mostly some gui changes for fitting into Android holo design (New Icons, ...). Othter changes you can find here: http://social.bka.li/url/55296

@mmn The least I want is to find a lot of bugs in a not the most popular API :-) So you think that AtomPub is only possible alternative (or extension) to Twitter API? Could you remind me: which API "ostatus" uses and may it be used by a client app?

@andstatus OStatus is the protocol itself, but that implies you run an instance. The data format is Atom - so _interpreting_ received data should not be buggy.

@mmn Does "running a GNU social instance" require having this instance online at a preconfigured URL? ...I guess yes, taking into account absence of any "coordinator" ("tracker", hub...)?! I mean is it feasible to host GNU social private instance on a mobile device?
