OK, I may be being thick here, but I can't seem to set the first day in the #Ubuntu calendar to Sunday. Tried out quite a few of the tips online, but I can't change it. I've set the first_weekday to 1 on the en_GB file, but this does nothing :( Can anybody help? #linux

Did you try en_US? In Europe we tend to reckon the first day is not a rest day, so that becomes Monday, while in teh US a calendar normally starts the week with Suday - I've never understood why.

@mk no I hadn't, can I apply en_US to just the time format? I don't want to set the default to en_US for keyboard layout and language etc

@kevie Yes, you can apply different locale settings for each of the locale variables (so forget the _ALL, set each (other) one separately). Experiment! :)

@mk Bank you soooo much, that worked :)

@kevie great to hear that!
