@cyberkiller To have a #sharepoint setup, does it need any programming or development done?
-
What the hell is #SharePoint? All I understand is it is cloud based, people focused, integrates with office, can be on intranet or internet, manages many appliances and you use it to improve your IT infrastructure making it scalable, reliable and more efficient. There is also a SharePoint Server and SharePoint Online.
Microsoft presents it as a miracle solution to make you employees more productive an infrastructure stress free.
Is this stuff used to create custom applications? Can it be compared to Symfony? To Drupal? To a WYSIWYG website editor? Do we need a developer to put it in place?

@dragnucs it seems when you installed a "windows small business server 2008" (premium)?) you automatically got a Sharepoint installation.
-
@dragnucs #SharePoint is part of the #Windows Server system. $EMPLOYER should be able to check their Microsoft licensing to see whether SharePoint is available to them.
-
@dragnucs Most of what I've seen of #SharePoint work is dragging and dropping web components onto a page and setting permissions to allow chosen group(s) to view.
-
Yes, but I find that #Sharepoint fits this analogy especially well. "It will solve all your problems!" Afterwards you have 10x more problems
-
@cyberkiller $EMPLOYER is got power and is getting more servers.

@lnxw48 Then I'll be in deep s--t
