@roland @hikerus Yeah and it's pretty neat to do it with 'git pull'. This is what I do to update !gnusocial on #quitter.es and #quitter.is (including !Qvitter):
cd ~/htdocs && bash scripts/stopdaemons.sh && git pull && php scripts/upgrade.php && bash scripts/startdaemons.sh && cd local/plugins/Qvitter/ && git pull
(symlinked ~/htdocs to the site's root directory)

Never change a running system - ich weiss...
-
@mmn Over here it's snowing the whole day - as weather forecast said. So I would have some time to change the running system... :)
-
@hikerus Just make sure to do a full backup first. As always ;) (but most of the upgrade bugs are fixed I think since #quitter.se had their run)
-
@hikerus generelle vorgehensweise sollte dir bekannt sein? Immer Backup machen von Dateien + Datenbank bevor du updatest. Und ja, updaten solltest du immer.
-
-
@mmn @hikerus the general procedure should be fine: stop daemons, backup both scripts and data, update scripts, run upgrade scripts and pray. :)
