What about this: "#git is distributed but the social networking around it, which #github #gitlab and alike add, is not. We need a distributed / federated way to comment and discuss on commits that doesn't require a central hub. Otherwise you'll always get this tendency to beehives. Perhaps one could start with a gnusocial plugin?" From this old post https://gnusocial.no/conversation/98722

So whose genius idea was it to centralize documentation on a single service (namely readthedocs) ?
-
@nds I'm starting to be a bit concerned about that too :-) At least it appears to be all free software, as opposed to e.g. github.

@nds For one of my projects I'm setting up markdown files as documentation. They'll be used to statically generate a HTML verson. :)

@windigo cool. I do markdown to html using pelican for my blog
-
@nds I've looked at pelican, but it seems like an awful lot of code to render markdown inside a boilerplate. I don't need most blog stuff.
-
@windigo coward!

@aroque Or take a look at #fossil which federates / distributes bug tracking, wiki, technotes along with version-control http://url.federati.net/B9KBH #code-hosting
