A GPL-based Haiku clone would be awesome. I want to try soemthing non-GNU/Linux. Maybe #Syllable?
- mcscx repeated this.
-
@deavmi you could try !AROS, it's a free remake of the !Amiga. http://qttr.at/zbx
-
@deavmi some years ago I used !aros for daily use, like browsing the web, and there was mplayer for listening to web radio
-
@copyme I should try out the BSD. What about LibreBSD
-
@deavmi @copyme @mcscx Open, Net, Free, PC and Dragonfly are the BSDs I know. Maybe you are thinking of LibReSSL, by OpenBSD crew?
-
@clacke nah. Sure I heard of LibreBSD on Trisquel forums. People thought I was dodgy though.
-
@deavmi https://github.com/RoozbehShafiee/LibreBSD seems a one-person, not-ready proj. Mentions librebsd.org, which just -> kernel.org
-
@deavmi Also mentions http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/articles/nanobsd/index.html though, which I hadn't heard of before.

I ran #Syllable's desktop OS in a VM a few years ago, until I quit using VMs for that purpose. (At that time, Syllable's server OS wasn't Syllable-based. It was a GNU+Linux distro.) I haven't kept up with Syllable since that time.
