"PuSH doesn't support private postings and couldn't be changed to support it. With Salmon it might be possible. But by now it doesn't seem to be supported."
So how come private posts to groups are possible? The limiting case of a closed, two-members groups already implements private 1-to-1 posting. #learning
@simsa0 thanks, I found @heleuct@pirati.ca reply in the !ostatus group (although it didn't federate on my node) and I quoted it above.
The change is already in the nightly branch (say it is a more unstable version of the code, with new stuff), and it might take some time before it is merged in the master branch (which most nodes follow). Anyway I will update the FAQ accordingly, mentioning the issues we have learned on the way.
Good. How about the other points / Q&As at the bottom of the pad? Do you already have any opinion?
My opinions:
- "Subscribing": OK (but we shouldn't have faq on that!!)
- "Blocking": OK but I would anticipate what blocking means. Scary that remote unblocking doesn't work, I didn't know that
- "Repeats/favs": I'd keep only the first sentences, the possible explanation of when/how repeats federate seems a bit too involved.
- "Private notices": I'll work on that
- "RSS feeds": I'll work on that
- "subscribing" > was a question you raised ;-) And perhaps it's reasonable to keep it now as it is related to "how to send messages to other users", above. (Remote subscribing can be a bit irritating for new users.) - "blocking" > you mean telling about what it does and what it doesn't before telling the howto? Ok. - "repeats / favs" > I asked @ mmn directly and via @ lnxwlt48 indirectly ( https://social.mxchange.org/url/36060 and https://social.mxchange…
