Yeah, I've happily used #trac as a user many times. But I haven't checked whether it is capable of integrating with a source repository (stuff like merge/pull requests). #gogs - and thus notabug.org - will get support for that likely within a week or so. That will make it a neat, attractive alternative.
But hey, we've got until May to figure out where to go. No rush! :D
@andresinmp Hadn't heard about that - but it does seem to fill the basic requirements. Maybe we should have a go at #Kallithea (#Καλλιθέα !) and see if it's easy to setup + maintain.
@mmn Phabricator, perhaps? You're already using it for bugs, why not host the code there too?
@windigo I think #Phabricator is awful. Also they explicitly can't support #OpenID login. What an antifeature.
@mmn I agree - although I didn't know about the lack of OpenID support.
@windigo @mmn Despite that I find the UI totally confusing and inconvenient, ever for a somewhat tech-savy person like me.
@mmn how about running your own #gitorious instance? It is #free-libre #open-source software itself: https://gitorious.org/gitorious
@roland do you want to take over the maintenance of #Gitorious source code? I don't. And running discontinued software doesn't sound very fun.
@mmn my idea was to use that software #gitorious for our own purpose and not continue gitorious itself (of course not as it will consume more and more bandwidth and storage).
@roland I believe @mmn is referring to the #gitorious software being abandonware. Unless some group of people steps up to maintain it, it gradually becomes less useful in comparison to other options.
@lnxw48 @mmn no, #gitlab has possibly abandoned it in favour of their proprietary software. Maybe the community will step up and take it over. Anyway. I won't register with gitlab, that is the wrong signal.
@mmn @lnxw48 What are the guys behind #Qt #Libreoffice #opensuse doing? Perhaps they may want to continue using/maintaining #gitorious. And more generally, it would be good to know where #gitorious users will be moving, to #gitlab or what. Is there a way for the community can react collectively to that?
