!gnusocial how do I add another admin I seem to be lost in the documentation
- Roland Häder likes this.
-
@mv simply go the user's profile and use "Moderate", then choose "admin" (or so). It is all done (including deleting over the user's profile page. There is currently no "admin interface" for user management. cc @mmn

i think because I am not the lead admin I am not able to actually grant admin powers, i think at least ....but thanks for the direction it helped in a dev version of the site
-
@mv @roland hmm, on SN it's: as admin, go to a user profile, → "user role" (not "moderate") → admin / moderator
-
@roland recently I don't see most of your posts at quitter.se. Unsubscribing + resubscribing didn't help. On Vinilox I see all your posts
-
@mcscx I also have trouble seeing dents from some people, e.g. @chimo is known to me. But yours are fine. :-) Tomorrow I can try to verify, if my dents have reached on https://quitter.se as I have an account @quix0rquitter there.
-
@roland recently 1 post from fediverse.com didn't arrive at my quitter TL and @erkan posted the log. https://quitter.se/notice/3448188

but now comes to mind: I have the retry=15(or 10), whcih should have made it send there after that. Either that's buggy or some other things like cosmic solar flares
-
@mv You are both Administrator and Moderator in "User Role". You should be able to set the same for other users.
-
Oddly I don't have power in social but I do in dev.social
-
@mv That's strange. I've given you all privileges I can in the web UI :-/
-
yeah oh well...as for qvitter i am not sure where development is now but i am tempted to at least update dev.social.m.o to see what we get
-
@mv I'd suggest to try that first :-)
-
well I updated the dev.social.m.o to 1.1.3-beta3 is you want to check it out
it actually is rather nice on the qvitter front
-
what i am wondering is if in the latest version we could just keep both options since a design not likely to happen...also there might be interest in folks in mexico to take on the maintenance at some point they have a workshop on it today
-
@mv @sazius Can you give yourself admin role with @@php scripts/userrole.php@@ ?
-
@lnxw48 @mv userrole.php is easiest, needs administrator as well as moderator to do all the stuff you want.
-
Well I think we could just add teh qvitter plugin after upgrading it to 1.1.3-beta3 with a pull, since i have the dev one running that now..i cannot remember our work flow on upgrading
-
@mv me neither, probably we had a git branch that we could go back to in case of failure... unfortunately I'm heading to bed now... really tired
-
@lnxw48 The strange thing is @mv already has "Administrator" role according to the web UI.
